Scott's Discovery Hut

I spent Christmas of 2016 at McMudo station in Antarctica. On Boxing Day they allowed expeditioners to visit Scott's "Discovery" hut at Hut Point - which is a 10 minute walk from McMurdo. This was quite a treat, as access to the hut is normally very restricted due to its huge historical importance. Apparently the hut was an Australian pre-fab building designed for outback farms, and never intended for use under Antarctic conditions. But it was just incredible to be inside the building, with items more or less as they left them over 100 years ago. (That included some only slightly decayed seal meat - whew!)
